Sukora Cooper Shines with TD Catch, One-Handed Pick & TD Pass in Panthers' 52-24 Win

October 22, 2026
Sukora Cooper caught a TD, threw a TD, and made a one-handed pick as Panther Creek beat Emerson 52-24 in a key district win at The Star in Frisco.

SMU coaches made the trip to The Star in Frisco to check on their sophomore commit, and Sukora Cooper gave them plenty to feel good about. The Panther Creek wide receiver was everywhere in a 52-24 district win over Emerson, finishing with five catches for 63 yards and a pair of scores — but the stat line only tells part of the story.

Cooper opened the scoring with a touchdown reception that put Panther Creek up 10-7 early in the second quarter. When Emerson threatened to retake the lead, he came up with a one-handed interception in the end zone to kill the drive. Then, on a flea-flicker, Cooper lined up as the passer and found Shawn White for a touchdown — White finishing the night with 180 total yards.

Quarterback Tristan Schamm was sharp throughout, completing 17 of 23 passes for 260 yards as Panther Creek pulled away convincingly. The final score of 52-24 represents a significant district win for head coach Clint Surratt and a program that continues to build around one of the more versatile young playmakers in the DFW area.
