On Thursday night at Globe Life Park, Argyle QB C.J. Rogers having a great season, led the Eagles into battle with Stephenville. Early on they put the game on the shoulders of senior tailback Tito Byce and he delivered with this touchdown run on the game's opening possession for a quick 7-0 lead. Byce with 149 yards and 3 touchdowns. Stephenville would fall behind 14-0 before they found a rhythm on offense. Gavin Rountree to chase Morrison cuts the lead to 14-7. That's when Rogers would take to the air, this pass to Ward McCollum only 15 yards through the air but McCollum does the rest, spinning out of a tackle and racing 46 yards to extend the lead to 21-7, Rogers finishes with 304 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Eagles would cap another scoring drive with Knox Scoggins doing the honors and Argyle, just too many weapons, advances to the third round with a 56-27 win over Stephenville. They'll get a rematch with Waco LaVega next weekend.
