Spencer Martin Rushes for 225 Yards as Keller Central Tops Plano West 26-17
Coming off a 7-on-7 state championship, Keller Central had plenty of momentum heading into the season — and running back Spencer Martin made sure it carried over to the real thing.
Martin got the Chargers on the board early, taking an inside handoff and breaking free for a 64-yard touchdown run on the opening drive. Keller Central led 6-0 after the first quarter, but Plano West answered in the second. Ayden Martin found a crease up the middle for a 23-yard touchdown, and the Wolves took a 7-6 lead into halftime.
The third quarter belonged to Keller Central. Blake Tevis floated a pass that never reached its intended target — Chargers defensive back Korbin Ugalde stepped in front of it and returned the interception 25 yards for a pick-six. Later in the quarter, Spencer Martin broke another one loose, this time for 81 yards down the sideline to put the game away.
Martin finished with 225 rushing yards and three touchdowns as Keller Central defeated Plano West 26-17.
