Southlake Carroll Dominates District Opener vs. Keller Central, 35-17

Keller Central came in at 3-0 — the program's best start since 2020 — but Southlake Carroll made sure the Chargers' momentum stopped at the district line. The Dragons controlled the game from the opening drive, winning their District 4-6A opener 35-17 and sending a statement to the rest of the classification.

Dez Bryant Jr. set the tone early, scoring both of his two touchdowns in the first half to put Carroll up 14-0. After Keller Central trimmed the deficit with a field goal, quarterback Hudson Tomcheck extended the lead just before halftime — unable to find an open receiver, he improvised and weaved through the defense to finish a drive from 13 yards out, pushing it to 21-3 at the break.

Tomcheck shifted to the air in the second half, connecting with Brody Knowles for a touchdown to put the game out of reach. Knowles, a University of Illinois commit, led all receivers with six catches for 100 yards and was the most consistent weapon in the passing game all night. Carroll won going away, 35-17.
