South Grand Prairie Warriors vs. Cibolo Steele Knights - 2013 Basketball - Week 10

Virginia Tech bound Ben Emelogu led South Grand Prairie back to state for the first time since 1975. Their opponent was upstart Cibolo (Sib-ah-low) Steele. Emelogu got the Warriors started off nice with the long distance splashdown putting S-G-P up 8-2. Later 1st, Emelogu with the sweet pass between 2 Knights defenders to Jalon Anderson for 2 more Warrior points. 2nd quarter, senior Trey Hall is money from behind the arc as South Grand Prairie takes the 15-11 lead. Emelogu with his patented move. He dribbles down and stops on a dime for the pull up 3 ball. Big Ben with 14 points on the night and S-G-P up 25-18 at the half. 2nd half, Mark Howell gets all "Gary Payton" on the defensive end. First he picks the pocket of C.J. Siples and goes in for the easy layup. Then he steals it from Teyvon Lundy and rocks the finger roll on the other end. Howell finished with 20 points and S-G-P advances to the state final with the 60-43 win.
