South Grand Prairie Warriors vs Cedar Hill Longhorns - 2013 Basketball - Week 5

Let's head to Cedar Hill High where the Longhorns' Jalen Jones is one of the area's leading scorers with 21 per game, taking on the #2 ranked South Grand Prairie Warriors in a huge district 7-5A matchup. Pick things up 3rd quarter Warriors in the half court showing good ball movement, ends up in the hands of Trey Hall who sticks the corner tre.....only fitting, Trey with the tre.....Cedar Hill's Charles Wesley had an answer with a three of his own when he is set up in the corner and finds nothing but swine. SGP's Ben Emelogu starts announcing his presence, here he drives, misses the short jumper, stays with it and gets the reverse put back to drop....always follow your shot kids. Okay, 3rd quarter winding down, Cedar Hill with a few seconds to get a shot off, Jones gets it at half court, cuts loose and.......BANG! at the buzzer! football standout Laquivante Gonzales even enjoyed that one! That put Cedar Hill up 2 going into the 4th. The Longhorns would continue the 3 party in the 4th quarter, again it's Wesley connecting on 2 huge three's in the quarter but SGP would not go away easily, that's because Mr. Emelogu had himself a game, here he does the ole stop and pop from 3 land at the top of the key, then off the inbounds play, watch the quick release here...BURIES the corner 3, the Virginia Tech commit had a game high 23. But even with all that, Cedar Hill still had a chance to tie the game at the end, 2.8 seconds left, Jones gets the inbounds, gets off a descent shot...but it comes up short and #2 South Grand Prairies survives a thriller 55-52.
