Rockwall Holds Off North Forney 49-42 to Move to 2-0 in District
Under the lights at North Forney, the Rockwall Yellowjackets needed every bit of their 469 total yards to escape with a 49-42 district win over the Falcons.
Rockwall quarterback Collins Jones was the story in the first half, completing 16 of 20 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns while adding two more scores on the ground. The Yellowjackets built a 35-14 halftime lead that looked comfortable — until North Forney started chipping away.
The Falcons' Corday Woodard racked up 125 yards on the ground to ignite the comeback, and quarterback David Akinola kept the pressure on with four touchdown passes, including one to Donte Woodard that pulled North Forney within seven. Each time the Falcons closed the gap, Rockwall found an answer.
Running back Kayden Castro delivered the decisive blow, rushing for 137 yards and providing the game-clinching score to preserve the win. Rockwall moves to 2-0 in district play, while North Forney showed enough fight to signal it remains a threat in the weeks ahead.
