Richardson Berkner at Wylie East - 2023 Week 1 Football Highights

Wylie East opened up the season at home against what should be an improved Berkner team. The Pirates' first drive of the game appeared to end in a punt, but they ran a fake. AMAREAN PORTER got the corner and gained 31 yards, setting up their first touchdown and a 7-0 lead. Wylie East has two quarterbacks and played them both about equally. This is HOWARD FISHER the FOURTH, throwing a touchdown pass to KASON ATKINS for a 14-0 lead. The Rams woke up in the 3rd and started scoring. Quarterback DEMARCUS CALHOUN scored on a short run... ... and later in the 3rd, JAMARY WILLIAMS plowed in for a touchdown. Berkner just needed the extra point to tie the game ... but they didn't get it. The Rams also missed a 27-yard field goal in the final 2 minutes; Wylie East hangs on to win 14-13.
