This was a big non-district matchup in Class 6A -- Rockwall hosting Prosper.
The Yellow Jackets got the ball first and scored first. Mason Marshall found Triston Gooch, and Gooch did the rest, avoiding tacklers and sprinting to the end zone for a 61-yard touchdown. It was 7-0.
Prosper came back to tie the game at 7, and then their defense stepped up. Andrew Ward picked off this pass and ran it back 32 yards into Rockwall territory. That set up a touchdown and a 14-7 Eagles lead.
The rushing attack was a big part of this game for both teams. This is Prosper's Bryce Robinson springing loose for a 33-yard gain, setting up another Eagles touchdown and a 21-10 advantage.
Rockwall kicked a couple of field goals before shoving one into the end zone on a quarterback sneak from Marshall. They got the 2-point conversion to tie the game at 21.
Just before halftime, Prosper was forced to punt. Ashten Emory -- who rushed for 201 yards -- returned it 31 to set up a field goal and a 24-21 halftime lead. Rockwall goes on to win a thriller, 47-41 over Prosper.
