Big private school matchup Tuesday with John Paul the Second hosting Parish Episcopal.
Late 2nd quarter, Parish was down 5 before going on a 13-0 run. This three by SAWYER BATZ put the Panthers up by 7 (29-22).
JP2's big man BRYSON MC-GLOTHIN scored four points in the final minute of the half to cut the lead to 6 at the break.
3rd quarter, Parish's TORREY MITCHELL went on a tear, scoring 9 points including this 3-pointer, as the Panthers built a 10-point lead. MITCHELL finished with 19.
But midway through the 4th quarter, JP2 came roaring back ... MC-GLOTHIN scored on a contested layup and then finished off the 3-point play - part of his 21-point night.
Moments later, CAMERON MARKS used a *big* euro-step to score a reverse layup, and the lead was down to 3 (53-50).
Final minute, ALEX RUSSELL on the breakaway and scores on a goaltending call - we looked at it several times, and it was the right call. That tied the game at 56.
They needed overtime but it wasn't close. ARMON ALMUTTAR scored on a breakaway for 7-point lead ... and Parish wins by 9, 71-62.
