Panther Creek Dominates Richland with Three Interceptions in District 4-5A Win
Three interceptions and a dominant ground game were enough for Panther Creek to walk out of Richland's home stadium with a 27-7 District 4-5A victory over the Raiders.
The Panthers wasted no time on the road, with quarterback Tristan Schramm rolling right and finding sophomore Bruce Shaw deep for the game's first score. Shawn White then took over on the ground, finishing the night with 170 rushing yards — including a 40-yard touchdown run in the early second quarter that pushed the lead to 13-0.
Richland showed some life late in the first half. Quarterback Brighton Jones, who finished 20-of-30 through the air, connected with Major Reed in the end zone to cut the deficit to 13-7 and give the home crowd something to hold onto heading into halftime.
But Panther Creek's defense wouldn't allow a comeback. The Panthers intercepted Jones three times to repeatedly halt Richland drives, and a fourth-down touchdown strike to Willie Davis put the game away for good. The 27-7 final gives Panther Creek a significant district win as both programs navigate the 4-5A playoff race.
