Muenster Edges Gruver 21-18 in Thrilling Semifinal Clash

Casen Carney connected with Clayton Cunningham for a 71-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, lifting Muenster past Gruver 21-18 in the Class 2A Division 2 state semifinal at Canyon. The Hornets trailed 18-14 before the decisive strike.

Rhett Walterscheid's forced fumble early in the game, recovered and returned for a touchdown by Garrett Hess, gave Muenster a 7-0 advantage. The defensive tone set by that play carried Muenster into the state championship game as they pursue a repeat title.
