Mansfield Timberview Dominates Midlothian Heritage 54-7 Behind Big Plays on Both Sides
SMU head football coach Rhett Lashlee had a front-row seat to one of the more complete performances of the young Texas high school football season Friday night, as Mansfield Timberview dismantled Midlothian Heritage 54-7 in a game that was never close.
The Wolves' defense took over on the second play of the game when Tierney Shaw tipped a pass and came down with the deflection himself, setting the tone for what would be a dominant evening. Three plays later, Timberview was in the end zone — Steven Hall connecting with Dayln Hill on a deep ball, Hill hauling it in with a one-handed grab to put the Wolves up 7-0.
The turnovers kept coming. A pass slipped through the hands of Gregory Dorsey and landed directly in those of Josiah Hall, who turned the gift into a 47-yard pick-6 to push the lead to 20-0. Shaw then added his second interception of the half in the second quarter, broke a block downfield, and took it to the house to extend the advantage further.
By the final whistle, Timberview had rolled to a 54-7 victory — a performance thorough enough to draw the attention of a Power Four head coach scouting the sidelines.
