Lovejoy Stuns All Saints on Hail Mary TD — Texas Oncology Team of the Week

Forty-three seconds. That's all Lovejoy needed to turn a four-point deficit into one of the more dramatic finishes of the high school football season in the DFW area.

All Saints had built a 14-0 halftime lead behind some standout individual performances — most notably a highlight-reel grab by Georgetown commit Gabe Starling that set up the first score, and a touchdown reception from Noah Tarrant, a junior who holds offers from Georgia, Baylor, Arizona, and others. Junior quarterback Brailon Davis orchestrated the Saints' offense efficiently through the first half.

Lovejoy answered in the second half. Just six plays into the third quarter, Nixon Slaughter connected with Coleman Reaugh on a 48-yard strike to cut the lead to 14-7. The Leopards then added a field goal and, after smothering a punt attempt inside the 10-yard line, Luke Graham punched it in from eight yards out to give Lovejoy a 17-14 lead.

The teams traded scores from there, and with 43 seconds remaining, All Saints' James Gebhardt plunged in to put the Saints back on top, 28-24. It looked like enough.

It wasn't. Slaughter launched a desperation heave downfield — the pass was tipped — but Reaugh came down with it for the touchdown. Final score: Lovejoy 30, All Saints 28. The Hail Mary finish earns the Lovejoy Leopards the Texas Oncology Team of the Week.
