Lovejoy Dominates Frisco Reedy 56-17 Behind Gahan's 4 TDs
A 14-0 lead was just the beginning. The Lovejoy Leopards turned a promising start into a dominant Friday night performance in Lucas, handing Frisco Reedy a 56-17 defeat behind a balanced offensive attack that never really let the Lions back into the game.
Running back Luke Gahan was the story in the first half, breaking a 56-yard touchdown run on his way to 152 rushing yards and four scores on the night. Quarterback Nixon Slaughter added to the damage through the air, connecting with Jeremiah Johnson — who finished with three touchdown receptions — on a 46-yard strike to push the lead to 28-3.
Reedy showed some fight heading into halftime, scoring with 10 seconds left in the second quarter, then capitalizing on a Kasen Kerr pick-six just nine seconds into the third quarter to close the gap to 28-17. The momentum swing gave the Lions a chance, but Lovejoy answered quickly and methodically.
Slaughter finished with four touchdown passes, including a scoring strike to Hudson Boyd, as the Leopards pulled away for the 56-17 final. The win reinforces Lovejoy's standing as one of the top programs in the area heading deeper into the season.
