Lincoln Tigers vs. Woodrow Wilson Wildcats - 2013 Basketball - Week 7
July 21, 2018
The Tigers beat Wilson earlier in the year by 7 handing the Wildcats their only loss of the year, but Wednesday night, Wilson's Trey Washington truly was "superman" early on. He scored the Wildcats first 18 points of the game including this crazy reverse layup. 20-12 Wilson after a quarter. Lincoln has a dynamic duo in the backcourt with the Neal twins. Here Erick Neal drives the lane and does the no look pass to Mark Johnson for 2 of his 21 points. Wyoming bound Washington was on fire in the first half. Chance Houston finds him in the corner for the 3 ball. 25 points in the first half for the senior. But before the halftime buzzer sounded, Erick Neal dribbles to halfcourt and hits the prayer as the horn sounds. Lincoln trailed by 9 at the half, but that shot would prove to be vital later on. We pick it up in the 4th, Wildcats on the run and watch the ball movement. Houston to Zach Coleman with the touch pass to Washington for the layup. Washington finished with 34 points and Wilson led 59-48 with 3 minutes left. But turnovers and missed free throws let the Tigers back in it and when Neal hits this shot in the lane, Lincoln had tied it at 63 and we are heading to overtime. In OT, Derrick Neal sees Travon Donnell all alone under the basket as Lincoln would score the first 6 points in the extra session and go on to complete the comeback. They win it 77-72 and go undefeated in district play.
