July 21, 2018
Alisha Washington averages 17 points a game for the state's second ranked Lincoln Tigers. They took on Mansfield Summit in a 4A regional semifinal game. Lady Jaguars got off to an early 6-0 lead behind the inside play of Destiny Strange. She finished with 9 points. Lincoln, however, is known for their press and when it gets going, look out. Summit's Taylor Jones with the turnover and Jas Cooper passes it up court to Washington for the layup. Lincoln up 28-21 at the break. Summit started hitting from the outside to tightened this one up. Keanna Kelly with the corner trey as she led the Lady Jaguars with 11 points and cut the Lincoln lead to 1. But watch Washington jump up and steal Nia Jackson's pass in mid air, take it the other way for the layup and she got hacked. Washington led everyone with 22 points and Lincoln was up 34-29 after 3. 4th quarter, Lincoln's Kelsey Criner waits for her opportunity and then she makes her move...stopping in the lane for the pull up jumper. Lincoln advance to the regional final with the 48-33 win and will play the winner of our next game.
