Lincoln Lady Tigers vs. Aledo Lady Bearcats - 2013 Basketball - Week 9

In a 4A semifinal, Aledo coach Rusty Johnson has his Bearcats at the state tournament for the first time in school history. His task.....to try and stop sensational junior guard Alisha Washington and the Lincoln Tigers. Aledo was on point in the first quarter, off the inbounds play Megan Wood finds an easy route to the rack. Wood with a team high 13 points and Aledo led 17-10 after a quarter and are feeling good. That feeling went away in the 2nd quarter. Washington waits out past the arc for an opening and when she sees it....she's gone....right to the tin for the kiss of the glass. Lincoln outscored Aledo 17-3 in the 2nd qtr. 2nd half, Bearcats on the break and Alyssa Day hits a streaking Mallory Powell for 2 of her 10 points. But, the Tigers were already in their groove, Washington hits the 3 from the corner to finish with 20 points. Lincoln would hold Aledo to 3 field goals the final 3 quarters and roll to the 64-44 victory. Lincoln moves on to play Georgetown (Hoyas Baby) in the 4A final.
