The two top dogs in 6-6A went at it as Lewisville visited Coppell.
And the Cowboys were ready for a fight. First quarter, Eddie Griffin throws a 10 yard dart to Tucker Cusano (Cue-sano) and Coppell ties it at 7.
2nd quarter, Griffen dumps it off to O'Marion Mbakwe (Mmmm-bach-way) who gets down to the one where he's popped...fumbles...but Big David Richey is johnny on the spot for the recovery in the end zone. Coppell is rolling 28-7 at the half.
Second half, it's 35-7 when Lewisville gets the offense going with who else, but Tulsa bound Viron Ellison. The senior breaks off a 65 yard run as part of a 146 yard day and 2 scores. This run set up one of those.
But the Cowboys and Eddie Griffen were not messing around. Griffen threw for 313 yards and 2 scores including this one to Xavier Mosely who dives into the end zone. 42-14.
4th quarter, here's Mosely on a 22 yard touchdown run. The Cowboys hadn't beaten Lewisville since 2013, but they sure did Friday night as Coppell is alone in first place with a statement win, 49-28.
