We head to Garland now for a big showdown for 1st place in district 11-5A between Rowlett and LakeView Centennial. Rowlett led by Dominique Oliver who came into this one averaging 15 points a game. The pace would be frenetic throughout much of this one with both teams in a full court press. Centennial's Brianna Mahoe breaks it here but just misses the layup, we go the other way and Rowlett's Mercedes Cartter finishes on the other end off the assist from Taylor Depew. Centennial's Daja Chase weaves her way through traffic and finishes this layup in traffic. Then the Lady Patriots would push the tempo with Jamesha Wade kicking the ball out to Bre'Osha Scott, she hits from the top of the key, give her 7 points on the night. Centennial's Cathy Okwilagwe (O-kwill-ugh-we) would have a big night on the boards, here she gets the outback but the Lady Patriots still trailed by 15 at halftime. Rowlett had good ball movement all night, leading to open shots, hereDominique Oliver misses the 3 but the Lady Eagles keep the ball alive and Oliver stays with it, she gets the bucket and the foul...and a game high 20 points on the night. Then Taylor Lepew commits the cardinal sin, kills her dribble with nowhere to go but the Centennial defense goes to sleep and she cuts through the lane for an easy bucket off the assist from Taylee Alexander. Rowlett stays undefeated in district play picking up a 61-54 win, Centennial drops to 4-2.
