Kimball Knights vs. South Oak Cliff Bears - 2013 Basketball - Week 6
July 21, 2018
Snoop Johnson's Kimball Knights have had an up and down season, but are ranked 8th in the state and took on South Oak Cliff Wednesday night. You certainly don't stay home and do laundry when there's a SOC Kimball game going on.....you bring your laundry to the game. 2nd quarter, the Knights DeAngelo Allen draws the double team and dumps it off to Trent Brinkley for the tomahawk jam. Then, sharpshooter Keith Frazier, lines one up from almost half court and nothing but net on this 3. 19-6 Kimball in the 2nd. Golden Bears make a run. Mister Dawson drives into the lane, spins, shoots, and scores plus the foul. Dawson with 15 points. Then, after a Kimball miss, Kenny Arthur passes it up court to David Myers for the snowbird layup to end the half. South Oak Cliff had cut the Kimball lead to 3. They would continue the comeback in the 3rd...Dawson to Myers in the corner for 3. He scored 26 points and SOC had taken over the lead. Golden Bears would extend that lead to 9, when Myers dishes it to McKendric McKenzie in the paint. 48-39. But the turning point may have been late 3rd. Frazier 3 point attempt bounces high and Allen goes over the defender to slam it home one handed. That dunk brought the house down and sent all momentum Kimball's way. 4th quarter, Frazier connects on the long distance shot from the corner. 29 points for the senior and Kimball wins it 79-74.
