The Kennedale defense had their hands full with this guy. That's Braeden Smith and he had himself a ball game. Smith got the ball 24 times for 233 yards. He had already found the end zone 2 times in the first half, but here in the 3rd quarter, he gets run out of bounds at the 2 yard line after a 25 yard gain. That led to Finnegan passing to Colton Wittwer for a short touchdown. Melissa led 33-10. Bright spot for Kennedale is Tyler Choice fielding the ensuing kickoff at the 9 and breaking it 91 yards for a touchdown. Not enough as Melissa wins 43-17 and will face Paris in the next round.
