John Paul II at Parish Episcopal - 2023 Week 23 Basketball Highlights

Parish and JP-2 playing for the 2nd time this year - Parish won the first by 9. The Panthers turned a 5-point lead at halftime into 15 when ARMON ALMUTTAR hit a three from the corner (55-40). Now in the 4th quarter, Parish on the break, and KYLE HAMBURGER has a tough finish at the rim. The Panthers led by 20 with under 6 minutes to go in this game. (69-49) But JP-2 fought back, and when BRYSON MC-GLOTHIN drove the lane and scored, the lead was down to seven (71-64). It was a four-point game when Parish's HARRIS DAR scored off his own miss, and it looked like the Panthers had weathered the storm. (73-67) Not so fast ... CAMERON MARKS nailed a *long* three pointer to tie the game at 77 with only 12 seconds left to play. That gave Parish plenty of time to get a shot off, but they turned it over, which led to fast-break layup by ALEX RUSSELL. JP II had the lead with 1-point-5 seconds left. Parish designed a good play at the end, but it didn't work and JP-2 makes up a 20-point deficit in the 4th quarter to win, 79-77.
