Hebron Hawks vs. DeSoto Eagles - 2013 Basketball - Week 9

Duke bound Matt Jones was hoping to be a big factor in DeSoto's offense but was held to 4 points on the night. The Eagles got offense other places though. Takedrick Brown is left alone behind the arc and he dials up a 3 ball. Eagles up 39-31 at halftime. 2nd half, here comes the Hawks. Jeff Hicks hits the corner and 3 and is fouled as well. Hicks with the rare 4 point play. And then Cal Poly signee, Ridge Shipley pulls up for the dead one trifecta. Shipley with 26 points and Hebron was only down 2 heading into the 4th quarter. In the 4th, DeSoto uses the nice ball movement before Terry Maston gets it for the 2 handed slam in the Hebron defenders face. Ouch! Maston with 27 points. The Hawks would make plays when they needed it the most, Brown's lazy pass is stolen and saved from going out of bounds not once but twice by the Hawks...Shipley then leads Hicks for a layup and Hebron beats the state's #1 team 62-55 to advance to the regional semifinals.
