The Garland Owls had a 35-14 halftime lead on the road, at Prestonwood Christian Academy. The Lions were trying to get something going in the 3rd quarter. MAGUIRE MARTIN scanned the field, then threw it right to the wrong guy. TRAY ALEXANDER intercepted this pass and returned it 19 yards to give Garland the ball and great field position. A few plays later, quarterback CERGIO PEREZ dropped back, had a clean pocket, and threw a strike to his man CHARLES ALLEN. PEREZ had five touchdown passes in this game, three to JORDAN HUDSON in the first half. Later in the 3rd quarter, the Owls' JAYSHAWN POWERS ripped off a 52-yard touchdown run. For the game, POWERS rushed for 134 yards on only 10 carries, and Garland was up 49-14. Prestonwood tacked on a late touchdown on a nice pass from MAGUIRE MARTIN to COCO ESCHEIK, but this night belonged to Garland, which didn't quite score 50 in their 3rd straight game; Owls win 49-21.
