So with the Lone Star win, Wakeland not only had to beat Frisco, but beat them by at least five points.
It was looking good at halftime. Wakeland led 17-0 and then scored on their first drive of the second half. Hayden O'Neal was left wide open and scored for a 24-0 lead.
Later in the 3rd, Frisco showed signs of life, turning a turnover into points. After an interception, Jordan Hamilton scored on a 5-yard run to make it 24-6.
Wakeland's starting running back was injured, and on backup Ty Gleason's first play, he ripped off a 37-yard run. That was late in the 3rd quarter ....
... and early in the 4th, the Wolverines scored one more time to put this game away on a QB sneak by Brennan Myer. 31-6 was the final, and Wakeland is headed to the playoffs.
