Sophomore quarterback Garret Rangel has led Lone Star to the top spot in the state for 5-A. They took on Independence Thursday
Alot has been said about the Ranger offense, but their defense has been just as good. Against the Knights they had 6 sacks and 8 tackles for loss. Alesio Russolillo with the sack here.
And, of course, the offense was dominant as well. Rangel rolls to his right, waits for the blocking to be set up and then dumps it to Jaden Nixon for a 50 yard score and the Rangers led 21-0 after 1. Rangel with 338 yards and on 20 of 21 passing.
2nd quarter, same play except this time Rangel wants a deeper pass and you know who's waiting for this one....Marvin Mims. That's a 43 yard score. Mims 7 catches for 138 and 2 touchdowns. Rangers roll 63-14 and will look to avenge last year's loss to The Colony next week.
