In a very entertaining 3A area playoff matchup, Breanna Hayden, who is heading to Baylor next year, and her Madison Lady Trojans took on the state's 4th ranked team, Frisco Lone Star. The Lady Rangers took advantage of early Madison turnovers like this one to build a 15-2 lead. Deja Snell with the basket there. Slowly, but surely, the Lady Trojans inched their way back. Off the inbounds, Hayden scores with the drive down the baseline. Then, Hayden takes her defender in the paint, misses the shot, but gets her own rebound, scores and is fouled to give Madison a 18-17 lead. But in the 2nd quarter, Lone Star started getting it back together again. Zoie Miller for 3 and she finished with 13 points. Then B'ria Wagner on the fast break....she takes it strong to the hoop and scores. Wagner was one of 4 Lone Star players in double figures with 10 and the Lady Rangers led 37-24 at the half. 2nd half, Madison completely took over the game. In particular, Breanna Hayden. She seals off her defender here, gets the pass and scores 2 of her game high 35 points as Madison advances to face Celina in the next round.
