Flower Mound Survives Little Elm 14-12 on Blocked Field Goal

October 7, 2026
Flower Mound blocked a 48-yard field goal in the final minute to hold off Little Elm 14-12 in a must-win district matchup.

A blocked field goal with under a minute to play decided a district game neither team could afford to lose. Flower Mound escaped with a 14-12 win over Little Elm after Brady Magill's 48-yard attempt was swatted away in the closing seconds, with the Jaguars recovering and running out the clock.

The stakes were clear from the start — an 0-2 district record for either program would have been a serious hole to climb out of. Little Elm showed fight throughout, with Channing Bailey keeping a third-quarter drive alive on a determined run that set up a goal-line score, cutting the deficit to 14-12 after two failed two-point conversions left the Lobos just short.

Flower Mound's Coy Dowell provided the decisive blow earlier in the second half, turning a third-and-one from the 11-yard line into a touchdown by dragging the pile for the remaining 10 yards and pushing the Jags to a 14-6 lead. Tyson Paul's four-yard scoring run for Little Elm made it a two-point game, but the Lobos couldn't complete the comeback.

For the victory, Flower Mound is the Texas Oncology Team of the Week.
