Flashback to Samantha Morrow Coaching Mansfield Girls Basketball to 4 Straight State Titles

In 1994, Samantha Morrow took her first head coaching job at Mansfield High. In just 5 short years, she began a streak that no other coach has accomplished in the UIL’s largest classification. The Lady Tigers won four straight state titles from 1999-2002 while playing 5A basketball. They were led by point guard, Erin Grant, all four years. Grant made the All State team each of those 4 years, earning Gatorade Texas Player of the Year in 2002. Morrow would go on to win 606 career games and another state title with summit, before retiring in 2018. Grant became an All American at Texas Tech and played a year in the WNBA. She’s now an assistant at USC, but will never forget the incredible run she and her Tiger teammates had in those 4 state tournaments.
