Flashback to a Dominate All-American Scorer Daniel Horton & the Cedar Hill Longhorns
From 2000-2002, the Cedar Hill Longhorns were led by one of the best scorers in the nation. Daniel Horton was a marksmen from behind the arc, but if you took away his jumper, he’d attack the rim and get points that way. He helped lead the Longhorns to 2 classic playoff matchups with The Colony. In 01 they lost, but in 02 in front of a jam packed Moody Coliseum, Cedar Hill would win. That senior year, Daniel would team up with his brother, Jason, to lead the Longhorns to a number 1 ranking in the state. Cedar Hill would suffer an upset loss to Midland Lee in the region final, but Horton would go on to be a McDonald’s All American. After a successful college career at Michigan, Horton played overseas until 2012 and now lives in Atlanta. But there hasn’t been a scoring machine like Daniel Horton in the Metroplex in quite a while.
