Eastern Hills Highlanders Roll to 5-0 in District Play, Top Southwest 46-24

November 4, 2026
Eastern Hills dominated Southwest 46-24, staying perfect at 5-0 in district play behind Chris Johnson's 1,500-yard season and a suffocating defense.

A 20-point first quarter told the story early. Eastern Hills wasted no time putting Southwest away, scoring twice in the opening minutes to set the tone for a dominant 46-24 district victory that kept the Highlanders unbeaten in league play at 5-0.

The rout began on the opening kickoff, when Cameron Remble returned the ball deep into Southwest territory to the 17-yard line, setting up a quick score just two plays into the game. Before Southwest could find its footing, a forced fumble by Armani Mayes — recovered by Bryce Thomas — gave Eastern Hills the ball right back and led to another immediate score.

Running back Chris Johnson continued to build on one of the more impressive individual seasons in the area, surpassing 1,500 rushing yards on the night. He capped a four-play drive to push the lead to 20-0 before the first quarter was even half over. By halftime, it was 40-0.

Southwest did not quit, eventually getting on the board and finishing with 24 points, but the deficit was simply too steep to overcome. The night also featured a special moment before the action got underway, as Southwest FLAG football athlete Aurianna Shipman was presented with her Under Armour All-American jersey during the game — a well-earned honor for one of the program's standout players.

Eastern Hills takes the 46-24 final and a perfect 5-0 district record into the stretch run of the regular season.
