What can you say about the year Desoto and their head coach Claude Mathis has had. In October they manhandled their long time nemesis, Duncanville, yet Coach Mathis refused to let his Eagles be satisfied. Instead he led his guys on a demolition tour of every foe who stepped in front of them. Desoto averaged over 53 points a game and in the state championship game, the Eagles put up a 6A record 74 points in winning back to back state titles.
