Denton Guyer Rolls Denton Braswell 51-7 Behind Carter Morgan's 4 TD Passes
Denton Braswell came in undefeated, but a trip across town to face Guyer quickly exposed the limits of that résumé. The Wildcats wasted no time, building a 17-0 lead before the first quarter was over and never allowing the Bengals to find any rhythm on either side of the ball.
Quarterback Carter Morgan was the engine of the Guyer offense, finishing with four touchdown passes. He connected with Tristan Shelton on a 21-yard strike in the first quarter — Shelton breaking tackles after the catch to push the lead to 17-0. Morgan added a 37-yard scoring pass to Graham Nixon over the middle in the second quarter, then found Oregon-bound Zane Rowe — lined up at tight end — for a 13-yard touchdown to cap the night.
Rowe was equally impactful on defense, breaking through the Braswell offensive line for a sack as part of a dominant performance by the Guyer front. The Wildcat defense held the Bengals to just 138 total yards for the game, a number that tells the story as clearly as the scoreboard. Guyer won going away, 51-7.
