Colin Simmons is a Dominant Force

Duncanville’s Colin Simmons is one of the most dominating defensive forces in the country as an edge rusher. On a weekly basis, you can catch quarterbacks running for their lives…trying to escape Colin’s grasp. But rewind a decade and it was Simmons who wanted nothing to do with the football field Colin may have cried at the thought of playing football, but now the quarterbacks lined up against him feel like crying. Last year he simply couldn’t be contained as he set a school record with 22 and ½ sacks. A Micah Parsons comparison is high praise especially coming from a legendary high school coach like Reginald Samples. But it’s not far-fetched. Colin hasn’t only studied Micah on the field, but off it too. Simmons sees that being versatile on the defensive side of the ball could lead to quite the payday Just before the season started, Simmons put to rest his recruitment by committing to the University of Texas. He also set a goal of 40 sacks this year. Since then he’s been double and triple teamed, making it nearly impossible to reach that lofty goal. However, a goal he’s already met is his desire to help in his community. No matter how much attention he gets on the gridiron, Colin is always willing to give back like he did back in August at this back to school event in Oak Cliff Subscribe to DFW Inside High School Sports to stay up to date on everything high school sports related in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex!
