Couldn't have asked for a better 7-4A Division 1 championship game then Celina at Panther Creek Thursday night.
3rd quarter, and Celina gets their ground game going. Down 17-14, Logan Gutierrez takes the handoff, cuts and the sophomore is heading to the house. 48 yard score putting the Bobcats up 21-17.
4th quarter, Gutierrez with the tough 21 yard score. Celina up 27-17 and with 3 minutes left, they look to be in good shape.
But hang on....Panther Creek's Braxton Roberts throws to Miles Meldrum who fumbles at the 2, but recovers it himself in the end zone to make it 27-24 with 1:24 left.
Onsides kick time for the Panthers....and THEY FALL ON IT.....there's still life for Panther Creek.
7 seconds left and Roberts goes to Parker Ord. Parker and his defender catch it at the same time, but the ref calls touchdown so Panther Creek wins the district title with a 31-27 victory. What an absolute thrilling game and the good thing is, they are both in the second season.
