Carson James Runs Wild as Arlington Heights Clinches District Title Over OD Wyatt
Two undefeated teams. One historic venue. Farrington Field in Fort Worth hosted a district showdown with serious title implications as Arlington Heights welcomed OD Wyatt, and neither side was ready to blink.
OD Wyatt quarterback Kentrell Steward gave the Chaps the lead in the second half, taking a carry up the middle 26 yards for a touchdown to put Wyatt ahead 16-11. Steward finished with 192 rushing yards on the night, giving Heights everything it could handle.
But the Yellow Jackets answered with their workhorse. Running back Carson James was a load all night — 33 carries, 219 yards — and he punched it in from the 2-yard line to put Heights back on top 19-16 in the fourth quarter. A Matthew Guerra pass to Jack Evans had set up the drive, with Evans racing deep into the red zone before being pushed out of bounds.
With under two minutes remaining and the Chaps threatening, James sealed it with another short-yardage score from the 4-yard line. Arlington Heights won 27-22, clinching at least a share of the district title in the process.
