Birdville hosted the Carrollton Newman Smith Trojans Friday night in a district 5-5A matchup.
Trojans get the scoring started when Pierson Rougeau (ri-show) gives to Chris Hughes who weaves his way through the heavy traffic and gets in for the touchdown from 20 yards, Trojans up early.
Birdville answers that when Noah Normand finds Brian Kent on the slant as Kent falls into the endzone for the score, Normand finished with 194 yards passing and 2 TD tosses.
Then the Trojans use the big fella, Alex Segura, who takes the direct snap and then just BOWLS over a defender to walk in for the score, hard to stop that.
Trojans would sure up that W when Normand steps to his right and cuts loose on a long pass but it gets intercepted and Newman Smith gets the road victory 35-30 over Birdville to go 1-0 in district play.
