Bryan Adams Basketball Team Helps Clean Up Their Community
FOR MOST HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES, SATURDAY MORNING ARE FOR SLEEPING IN. ESPECIALLY IF THEY HAD A GAME THE NIGHT BEFORE. BUT NOT FOR THE BRYAN ADAMS COUGARS. THIS PARTICULAR SATURDAY WAS RESERVED FOR SERVING OTHERS AS PART OF DALLAS’ “OPERATION BEAUTIFICATION”. IN THIS AREA NEAR J-B POLK ELEMENTARY, OVER 150 VOLUNTEERS ARE OUT HELPING SENIOR CITIZENS WITH YARD WORK AND WHATEVER ELSE IS NEEDED AROUND THEIR HOUSE. THIS INCLUDES THE COUGARS BASKETBALL TEAM WHO HAS HELPED WITH THIS CAUSE THE PAST 4 YEARS.
THE COMMUNITY CLEAN UP ALSO GIVES A CHANCE FOR THE COUGARS TO DEVELOP AS A FAMILY. ONE OF HEAD COACH JUAN RIVAS’ MAIN PREACHING POINTS IS COMING TOGETHER OFF THE COURT WILL HELP THEM PLAY MORE AS A TEAM ON THE COURT. IT’S ONE OF THE REASONS THE BRYAN ADAMS PLAYERS TALK ABOUT THIS EVENT ALL YEAR LONG.
A LITTLE ADDED BONUS THIS YEAR CAME IN THE FORM OF THE NORTH TEXAS HONDA DEALERS HELPFUL GUYS AND GALS. THEY SHOWED UP TO GIVE THEIR TIME TO THE CAUSE AS ANOTHER RANDOM ACT OF HELPFULNESS. AS THE NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS FOR OPERATION BEAUTIFICATION GROWS, IT PROVES TO THE COUGARS HOW A LITTLE KINDNESS CAN GO A LONG WAY.
