Brock looking to head to another 3A Division 1 state final, but they would have a familiar foe in Malakoff as the 2 met in last year's semifinal.
First quarter, Brock up 3-0 and they get a play from their defense. Colt Matlock steps in front of this pass and he's taking back the other way for a 39 yard pick 6. Eagles up 10-0.
Second quarter, it's 10-7 now, Brett Tutter gets the hand off...finds the opening up the middle and there he goes. 61 yards on a house call. Brock would lead 17-14 at the half.
Fast forward to the 4th...31 all and Brock is trying to make their way into field goal range with less then 2 minutes left. However, the Eagles feel the rush and the quarterback loses the ball right into the hands of Malakoff's Daniel Norrell who scampers all the way to the red zone. It was Brock's 5th turnover of the game and it would prove to be a back breaker.
Mike Jones takes it in from the 1 with 19 seconds remaining as Malakoff wins this one 38-31.
