Brassfield Returns to Lead Lewisville Past Flower Mound on Homecoming Night

November 4, 2026
Laykon Brassfield returned from a UIL eligibility ruling to spark Lewisville past Flower Mound 14-12 on the Jaguars' homecoming night.

Homecoming night at Flower Mound came with an unexpected storyline — the return of Lewisville quarterback Laykon Brassfield, cleared to play by the UIL just days before kickoff.

Flower Mound struck first when big-bodied QB Coy Dowell muscled his way into the end zone on a keeper, putting the Jaguars up 6-0. But Brassfield answered quickly, showing his arm strength on the move and connecting with Landon Brazzell for the go-ahead touchdown to put the Fightin' Farmers back in front 7-6.

Lewisville extended the lead when Brassfield found sophomore running back Kaden Crumpton on a checkdown. Crumpton did the rest, flying toward the pylon and diving in to make it 14-6. Dowell scored his second rushing touchdown of the night to cut the deficit to two, keeping Flower Mound in the game heading into the second half.
