Berkner Rallies Past Plano East 28-17 in Big 7-6A Showdown

November 4, 2026
Berkner rallied past Plano East 28-17 in a District 7-6A clash, with Christian Hampton leading the comeback and Damarian Dunn sealing it late.

A second-half comeback at the Boneyard has Berkner sitting pretty in the District 7-6A playoff race. Trailing Plano East 14-7, the Rams found their footing behind quarterback Christian Hampton and a timely special teams play to pull away for a 28-17 victory.

The turning point came when Hampton dumped a pass off to Chris Jones, who made a defender miss and turned it into a 40-yard gain to tie the game at 14. The momentum swung again when Plano East's defense forced a fumble deep in Berkner territory, converting the takeaway into a field goal to retake the lead at 17-14.

Hampton responded by airing it out to Jacob Watson, who hauled in the catch and fell into the end zone to put Berkner back on top, 21-17. Damarian Dunn then put the game away with a two-yard rushing score, bouncing outside for the final margin of 28-17.

The win strengthens Berkner's case for a playoff spot in one of the Dallas area's more competitive 6A districts, while Plano East absorbs a tough road loss with postseason implications still in play.
