Anna Coyotes Stun Celina in OT Behind Juelz Carter's 289-Yard Performance

Nine wins, zero losses. Anna's Coyotes earned every digit of that record Friday night, escaping Celina with a 35-28 overtime victory behind a performance from San Diego State commit Juelz Carter that will be hard to top the rest of the season.

Celina held a 13-0 lead heading into the third quarter before Anna quarterback Zephyr Kreye connected with Jayden Mercado in the back of the end zone to finally get the Coyotes on the board. The Bobcats answered when Legend Dangerfield took a direct snap and weaved his way through the defense for the go-ahead score, putting Celina back in front by one.

That's when Carter took over. The senior back broke off a 75-yard touchdown run to swing momentum back to Anna, part of a night in which he carried the ball for 289 yards and three scores on an average of 10 yards per carry. The two teams headed to overtime knotted at 28.

Anna got the ball first in OT, and Carter wasted no time — he took the opening play 25 yards for the score. Celina had one chance to answer, but on fourth down, Zane Lacrue's pass was knocked down by the Coyotes' defense, ending the game and sending Anna home with a hard-fought road win.

The victory pushes Anna to 9-0 on the season.
