Anna Coyotes Roll Past Frisco Panther Creek 42-27 in 4-5A D2 District Opener

District play in 4-5A Division 2 got off to a fast start at Toyota Stadium, where Anna wasted no time establishing itself as a contender with a 42-27 road victory over Frisco Panther Creek.

The Coyotes struck early and often through the legs of running back Juelz Carter. On the game's opening drive, quarterback Zephyr Kreye cycled through his reads, found no one open downfield, and dumped it off to Carter, who turned the short pass into a 29-yard score to put Anna up 7-0. The lead grew to 21-0 by the second quarter, with Kreye adding a 13-yard touchdown strike to Christian Adams on a rollout to the right.

Panther Creek refused to fold. Quarterback Tristin Schramm connected with Sukora Cooper on a flat route, and Cooper made enough moves after the catch to turn it into a 21-yard touchdown, cutting the deficit to 21-7 and giving the home crowd something to cheer about.

But Carter had other plans. The Anna tailback broke through the middle of the line and was gone — a 77-yard run that was part of a staggering 225-yard night on the ground. The Coyotes pulled away for the 42-27 final, leaving Toyota Stadium with a statement win to open district competition.
