Allen QB Ty Snell Leads Eagles Past Unbeaten Dickinson 29-19 in Tournament
Unbeaten Dickinson came in as one of the tougher tests on Allen's tournament bracket, but the Eagles had an answer at quarterback. Ty Snell put together a complete performance, spreading the ball to multiple receivers and keeping Dickinson's defense off-balance throughout a 29-19 Allen victory.
Snell opened the scoring with a crossing route strike to Zach Williams, who did the heavy lifting after the catch to give Allen an early 7-0 lead. Just before halftime, Snell showed touch on a back-shoulder throw to Landon Spriggs, who managed to toe-tap in the back of the end zone to push the Eagles' advantage to two scores at the break.
Dickinson answered to open the second half and made it a game, but Allen responded quickly. Snell found Silas Sicily Otto to keep the Eagles in front as the contest stayed tight into the fourth quarter. The turning point came when Trey Roberson stepped in front of a Lorenzo Aguirre pass for an interception, and Allen cashed in — Snell connecting with Andre Jackson out of the backfield to put the game away.
The 29-19 final sends Allen into the tournament championship game against Keller Central.
