Allen Dominates Prosper 51-21 in 6-6A Opener Behind Ty Snell's Big Night

District 6-6A play opened with a game that looked competitive for about a half — and then Allen took over.

Prosper actually had reason for optimism early. Down 9-0, quarterback Tyler Albert found Marcus McCoy in the end zone for a catch that required one hand and somehow survived a helmet-to-helmet collision on the way down. The Eagles scored on the next play and eventually led 14-9, turning what could have been a blowout into a genuine contest.

Then Ty Snell got going. The Allen signal-caller connected with Josyah Johnson on a 32-yard strike to put the Eagles back in front at 16-14, and one possession later he dropped a 70-yard touchdown pass right on target to Johnson again. Snell finished the first half with 267 yards through the air, and Allen led 23-14 at the break.

The second half was all Allen. Snell faked a scramble before firing a touchdown pass to Zach Williams to push the lead to 30-14, and Lyndon Springs added a 9-yard rushing score as the Eagles kept the pressure on. Allen won going away, 51-21, in a performance that signaled this program is operating at a high level early in district play.
