Aledo vs Smithson Valley - 2023 Week 17 Football Highlights

In the 5A Division 1 title game, first year head coach Robbie Jones brought Aledo to AT&T Stadium searching for their 12th state championship. They took on Smithson Valley and spotted them 8 points before the Bearcats got to work. Hawk Patrick-Daniels takes it right side for a 23 yard touchdown and Aledo is on the board down 8-7. Bearcats led 14-8 in the second quarter when Hauss Hejny (Haney) drops back, delivers a beautiful pass just before taking a hit, Kaydon Finley on the receiving end of it for a 69 yard touchdown and Aledo is coasting to a 24-8 lead at the break. Second half, the onslaught continued. Hejny, the TCU commit, finds Colton McCoy for a 29 yard score. Hejny threw for 202 yards and a couple scores. But the MVP of the game was Patrick-Daniels. He breaks free on this one for a 51 yard score. 186 yards and 3 touchdowns for Hawk as Aledo wins their record 12th state title with a 51-8 victory.
