In a spectacular start to the high school football season, the Aledo Bearcats faced off against the Denton Guyer Wildcats on a perfect August evening. Aledo’s Brady Powell scored the first touchdown, which was quickly followed by a standout defensive play from Denton Guyer's Jalen Sterling, who managed an interception despite being in a cast. Aledo’s special teams also shined when Alex Payton blocked a field goal, maintaining their lead. Another highlight was Kaden Winkfield's impressive touchdown run, weaving through the defense to help seal Aledo’s 21-14 victory.
