Aledo Rolls Past Euless Trinity 31-7 in Mid-Cities Matchup

September 15, 2026
Aledo's passing game dominated Euless Trinity 31-7 at Pennington Field, with Tre Williams leading the Bearcats to a convincing road win in their Mid-Cities matchup.

Before the opening kickoff at Pennington Field in the Mid-Cities, both programs paused to honor the heroes and first responders of September 11 — a fitting backdrop for Euless Trinity's home opener. What followed on the field was all Aledo.

With Trinity's run defense holding firm early, Bearcats quarterback Tre Williams turned to the passing game and found immediate success. His first scoring strike went to Kane Lanier over the middle, with Lanier racing in untouched from 22 yards out to put Aledo up 7-0.

The lead only grew from there. In the second quarter, Williams went back to the air, hitting big tight end Colby Thompson over the middle for a substantial gain. That set the stage for Wyatt Dorsey, who swept in from 9 yards out on second and goal to push the advantage further. Aledo never looked back, rolling to a 31-7 victory over Trinity.

The Bearcats, a perennial power out of the Weatherford area, showed the kind of balanced offensive execution that has made them a consistent postseason presence in UIL Class 5A. For Trinity, the loss in their home opener sets up an early challenge as they look to find their footing in district play.
