In the second game today at the Cotton Bowl, Arlington Bowie took on Mansfield. First drive of the game and the Tigers eat up half the clock as Donerio Davenport leaps in from the 1 to make it 6-0. On the next possession, the Volunteers push it in. That's a 5 yard touchdown run from Marsallus Sims 6-6. The Bowie defense would step up the rest of the half. Thats Jadyn Landrum flying in for the sack. Bowie wins this one 40-20.
Slowly becoming the most dominant running back in DFW, Kaedric Cobbs and Denton Guyer took on Cedar Hill at Cotton Bowl this morning First drive, Cobbs goes right side and fines pay dirt. 16 yard touchdown. 6-0. Cedar Hill has a playmaker as well. Transfer QB Kaidon Salter is so elusive. Here he gets away for a 13 yard score. Longhorns would lead 16-13. 2nd quarter, watch Cobbs bust through again. That's a 19 yard score but the Wildcats still trailed 22-20 at half. 3rd quarter, Salter shows off his arm as he hits Anthony Thomas in stride for a 64 yard touchdown. 325 yards passing for Salter Longhorns would lead 36-33 with 19 seconds left. 4th and 2 from the 10 for Guyer and who do they call on.....that's right....Cobbs and what great blocking. Springs him for a game winning touchdown. Cobbs with 217 yards and 4 touchdowns as Guyer wins another barnburner 40-36.
Texas Bound Billy Bowman, Junior hoping to lead a tough Denton Ryan team over Keller Fossil Ridge Ryan only gave up 6 last week.....this week they pitched the shutout.....One of the nation's top juniors, Jatavion Sanders, with the sack here. Offense got going when Seth Henigan goes 16 yards to Bowman Junior. 17-0 Raiders. Later 2nd quarter, watch Emani Bailey act like a pinball get through defenders for a 38 yard touchdown. Raiders win 24-0.
Newly reinovated Mustang Panther Stadium was the site for Southlake Carroll and Colleyville Heritage. This game was all Dragons as the dominated the ground game. This is junior Jack Abram with the 25 yard touchdown run. Carroll up 43-9 going into the 4th. More Abram as he scores on the 4 yard run. Dragons looking good early on this season. They beat the Panthers 50-9.
Duncanville and their defense do it again as they handle South Oak Cliff in a blowout.
Jesuit running back - and Emmitt Smith's son - EJ Smith didn't play against DeSoto; he's nursing an injury and should be back soon. 1st quarter, no score, DeSoto quarterback SAMARI COLLIER throws a 34-yard touchdown pass to LAWRENCE ARNOLD, 7-0 Eagles. (Arnold 10 catches, 135 yards, 3 TDs) 2nd quarter, Jesuit down 14-3, running back KYLE HECKEL scores on an 18-yard run, making it 14-10 DeSoto still leading. (Heckel finished with 80 rushing yards) 2nd quarter, COLLIER throws 70-yard TD pass to JAEDON WILSON. Collier 426 passing yards and 6 touchdowns; DeSoto wins 55-27.
And there is the brand new Children's Health Stadium that the Prosper Eagles now call home. They took on Keller Timber Creek Friday night and they were rolling early, Prosper signal caller Jackson Berry calls his own number and goes straight through the heart of the Timber Creek D for the 16 yard TD run Next time Berry shows off the arm, here he throws a beauty to Keaton Nickerson who's wide open behind the D for the 46 yard touchdown strike Prosper rolled early and often as they get the big win over Keller Timber Creek by the final of 49-7.
The Allen Eagles at home in front of their adoring fans to take on Dickinson, one of the top teams in the Houston area. After falling behind 7-0 early, Allen would turn to quarterback Raylen Sharpe - He throws a jump ball in the corner of the end zone to Blaine Green - he outfights the defender to tie the game at 7. Just before halftime the Eagles get the running game going. Check out the blocks up front! Jordan Johnson does the rest, he outraced the Dickinson defense and Allen defends the home turf, 38-24 over Dickinson.
